Greetings. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, SCH-i535 (Verizon issued). Following an incident, the LCD had a crack. I had not backed up anything to a Google account, as I am not either a heavy smart phone user (got this when I got one for my son) or had I ever had any cell phone incidents before. So, prior to sending it to Samsung for repair, I used the Verizon Software Repair Assitant to, what I thought, back up the phone. Mind you I did not have the benefit of seeing what the phone was doing as I could not see the screen. The software created a directory with a bunch of folders, such as application, video, EBook, etc., in a directory called SUABnR. Because I had a memory card, pictures and videos were on it. As a results, most of the folders that were created as a result of the backup are empty, as expected. The two folders that have something are the "Backup" and "sbu" folders. The former has a subfolder "SCH-I535" where there is a single file with extension *.sbu (specifically the file has a name consisting of a 18 digit number.sbu). The "sbu" folder has a subfolder "temp". Under this there is another nested subfolder with the same name as the 18 digit name. In this folder I have two folders named Music and Other and 10 other files, with names such as Groups, Logs, Configuration, Message, Phonebook. All of these have extension *.bk. Verizon claimed ignorance and declined to help because my phone was not backed up to gmail. Samsung also claimed ignorance and did not help because I had not used their Kies program to backup. Does anyone in the community have a suggestion? Thanks in advance.
