Help Redmi 7A storage not loading on laptop

When I plug my phone in, select File Transfer and open Internal Storage, some folders and files show up but it keeps loading forever and you can't click on anything. I tried using different USB ports and cables, restarted both the laptop and the phone, tried plugging in to a different PC, cleared all app cache and lastly installed newest system updates. What could be the problem?

Maybe check to see if the drivers are up to date on your computer. If it's not that, I have no idea.

For anyone who might be having the same problem, my brother helped me solve it. He suggested there might be corrupted files on my phone. And I had noticed before that some pdfs and jpgs were behaving weirdly (not loading properly, crashing) so I deleted the suspected ones. It worked! I can open my phone on my laptop now.
