I know I should know this by now but what's the easiest way to unpartition my SD wipe it and get my full 16gb of storage back

Not entirely sure but couldn't you just format using cwd?

You can use on your Windows Computer "MinTool Partition Wizard" to delete all current partitions and create a new FAT32 !!

NOTE : DO NOT USE MINI TOOL TO CREATE ANY PHONE RELATED NEW PARTITIONS..... this must be done on the phone via CWM Recovery or SDParter !

Repartition the card in cwm, select 0 for both numbers. Problem solved
