Refurbished?

Mexjoker

I'm Not Real, Doris!
Well I'm getting a replacement but i would like to know how to tell if it's a replacement? Or what are the chants of it bring a refurbished one? Just curios :D

Ask LoL afaik that's the only thing you can do BUT another way to tell is to go into the call timers and check lifetime call timer that cannot be reset. Most replacements ARE refurbished though to be honest if getting mailed to you but all replacements I have gotten from the store itself have been new units

Thanks, cause i'm getting mine from the corporate store. They ordered but i have to go pick it up.

Dial ##786#

Right now (guess because Im not stock)Life timer, Life calls and reconditioned status all say unknown for me.

Yup, as soon as you can go to Settings -> About Phone -> Status and it is the LAST option there and will read.

Lifetime Calls
Hours:Minutes:Seconds

Take a peak at the phone you have now(If You Are Able To) to see what you are looking for

Now if this reads 0 it PROBABLY means a new handset but could also mean that LG has reset the timer OR that the Radio was replaced which would reset it by default.

Yeah zero's but i'm waiting on my replacement. Something went wrong with my phone. No hope to restore it. *Dramatic Music* :o

Well that stinks LoL that's definitely going to be a hardware issue then. What is the reason for you needing a replacement?

It's funny you bring this up my third and final Esteem it's a refurbished one which I knew and I was fine with it after going through 2 previous zvc version I opted for the refurbished one which is the one I still own since December no problems at all but I just don't remember about whether or not I could tell about previous usage.

Refurbished is better than no phone lol

Since you mentioned corporate store you're safe cus the warranty is covering you because the insurance will send you a refurbished one with NO battery and that's a big frustration

I just got my replacement from insurance, cost a whopping 100 dollars but since someone decided to steal my first one i was willing to pay it. I got a battery, charger and even a car charger since it was stolen from my car. I never thought the replacement would be brand new!! In its original package and everything..

100 dollars?! wtf, i was told it would be $30 over the counter and $10 mailed in.......

anyway, there is a law on all refurbished items sold or warrantied here in the us. the company has to inform you that it is, if your under the belief that its new. so really, all you'd have to do, even with the call times at 0, is call metro, give them the esn/imei/etc, and ask if it is refurbished or not. when i bought mine it had a nice refurbished sticker at the bottom (under the battery), i laughed and and asked for a brand new phone.

when its a hardware malfunction corporate will replace the phone for 30 dollars due to the warranty, and the phone you get is refurbished. I worked in corporate before, so i know that much.

But corporate only covers defective phones, when you first got the phone they asked if you wanted insurance that will cover everything from a stolen phone to water damage but you have to pay a deductible. And the phone the Insurance company sends Is brand New they state it on their website..
