Help Reinstall Android on Galaxy Core

My kid has a Verizon Galaxy Core. It is my understanding that Verizon has their own flavor of Android, and that flavor does not have restrictions or parental controls.

Is there a way I can completely reinstall a clean version of Android on this phone? Thanks.
