Help Reinstalling gingerbread

I got my 2.3.3 gingerbread rooted........and den i installed a custom rom FirstUARom using clockworkmod ....i have a backup of rooted gingerbread rom but when i restore it the phone gets hanged up at the booting.....only light is seen on screen nd nothn happens further.....i want to install a rooted original gingerbread rom given by Samsung ...pls help me .....!!

If the rom you installed changed the filesystem to EXT4 (most do) you will need to flash your firmware via odin as the CWM backup wont work. If the rom uses rfs filesystem (same as stock roms) then you might need to do a full wipe (factory reset, wipe cache partition and dalvik cache).

Hope this helps.

i did a full wipe (factory reset, wipe cache partition and dalvik cache) and den tried to restore with CWM but it still didn't work......can u tell me how to check which filesystem is the rom using......i m amateur in Android nd do not know deeply......Nd please if someone can give me a link to the stock rom which Samsung gave me coz i want to collect it nd keep if i my have to give it back to dem den i wud have to unroot it ....so pls any help will be appreciated....!!

I believe its ext4 so youll need to flash a full package stock rom with Odin to get back to stock then reinstall clockworkmod then run restore your backup. Check the guide (how to return to stock from cyanagen) thread by chismay for odin instructions.

To get your stock rom - have a look at sammobile.com to see if its available. but following the advice above will work.

(dont forget to press the thanks button if I helped!)
