Release date?

I've seen August rumored, but who knows. Droid Incredible 4G was suppose to come out around May, but didn't come out until July.
I too have heard/seen August as a release month. (perhaps the same as loco4) That date sounded somewhat logical to me because that would put it's release past the 14 day return window for the early adopters of the SG3. But then again, if August is the release month, I would expect to start seeing some early leaked info regarding the Maxx HD. Although, maybe Motorola is keeping a very tight lid on the info, whether official or unofficial information.
All I know is I'm extremely hungry for any and all specs/pix, rumor/official/unofficial info regarding the Maxx HD.

I think it will be at least until the Olympics are done and the huge advertising push for the s3 is over. My guess is end of August at the earliest, more likely early to mid September. Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon's testing (at this point they have to be putting JB on, right?) delays it a bit and then they don't want to compete with the new iPhone and the launch gets pushed to Nov/Dec.
I don't see he phone being launched with jelly bean. And I also don't see it being released in November or December. I think the att atrix HD was part one. Now they are releasing the razor v over in Canada. And then we will see info on ours. In late July early august. The guy at best buy I was talking to seemed to know about the phone and he said middle of august it should be out but what do they know. That's why I was asking.

What would the iPhone have to do with it? I see in the past, I'd say VZW had motive to get those iPhone customers away from the other carriers since they didn't have the iphone. However, since all carriers have the iphone, to VZW now, what difference does it make if a VZW customer is on an iPhone or Droid? The real deal was the S3 and everyone retaining their unlimited data. The release date was very important to VZW, Samsung, and customers. Clearly the iPhone or any for that matter are far outside the UL data window. None of the phones, S3, iPhone are VZW phones, Olympics or not, all VZW wants is more customers.
Now, if a new phone was to hit "other ONLY" carriers (carrier branded phones), then you'd want to release the fighter before them to steal those customers away.
I'd say what is needed is to find out what the next hottest upcoming phone is not on VZW and expect release before that. Stealing customers from one provider would be reason to release.
What is the next greatest thing not on VZW?

I have a feeling we will start to see a lot more info next month with a ton of leaked info in September and a possible release in October/November. Most of the big phones for the year come out in October/November. This not only goes along with the holiday shopping season, it also goes along with the contract renewal dates for many customers.
As far as competition with the iPhone 5 goes, Moto wants nothing more than to go head-to-head with another phone on a different platform. Especially since the Razr Maxx is outselling the iPhone 4S so well. They don't want to go up against another big Android phone release though, which would be a good reason to let the GS3 run its course right now.

By "they" I mean Motorola wanting to delay it and not wanting to go head to head with the iphone. I just don't think Motorola would release their baby just before or at the same time the iphone is rumored to launch. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I think if they can get it out in the early part of September (with ICS) then great, if not then we will probably get JB and a November launch. I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see a launch in the next 6 weeks.
As for Verizon, of course they wouldn't care if it was released with the iphone. They would love to have the 2 biggest phones on their network at the same time. I just mention them as being a likely cause for delaying the launch with their infamous testing if JB is added.

I kind of hope they release it after the iPhone or at the same time. I plan on looking at them both. iPhone will need to have significant updating, though. I do feel OTD's point about letting the S3 dust settle makes a ton of sense. That'll take a bit longer than a month. October sounds right, even though it seems sooooo far away.

The iPhone 5 is just gonna be another small upgrade in the same vein as all the other iPhones. I mean the only thing they have really changed is making the screen taller and added 4g but everyone seems to think its gonna be some revolutionary phone that will change the game. The sad thing about apple is they have no reason to really change their products because they know people will just spend their money for the new shiny toy they put out.

Well if that's the case, I'm for sure picking up a Maxx HD...if it's a Maxx. Really that's always been my plan. I just feel like comparing the two would be worthwhile. Otherwise since I'm out of that nightmare Samsung POS and now on a very serviceable Maxx I can be more patient.
