Release time delay?

Well, the GSIII is from Samsung and the Bionic was from Motorola, so hopefully Samsung will do a quick launch. Fortunately, I think that is their plan with this phone, a quick launch worldwide instead of the long and staggered launch like they did with the GSII. I've read rumors of late June, but those were just rumors, but that sounds great to me!

Typically, it is not the manufacturer that is holding things up. Delay is usually from the carriers who want to do "their stuffs" with the phone first.

Come on... you guys know they have to add their FAIL VZ Navigator and car racing game, golf game etc etc.

GOD does anyone remember that app that told you what city a caller was in that had a monthly cost? It was on the Droid X and I nearly returned the phone over that thing.

It used to pop up and nag the hell out of you.

But we all know that Verizon will have to add all those junk apps before you can even dream of getting a phone from them.

I am on Verizon but my Fascinate does not have any Verizon app that pops up and annoys me. Every carrier has their add-ons, not just Verizon. But Verizon seems to be the one that takes the longest time to put their craps on the phone. ;)

Important thing is whether it will come out before the tier data plan or not. If it comes out before the tier data plan, I will certainly upgrade to this great phone and stay with Verizon. If it comes out after the tier data plan, I will switch to AT&T to get their variant of the GS3 and say goodbye to Verizon since I have nothing to lose.

Haha, City ID, that thing was annoying! It's actually the reason I rooted my phone the first time, just to get rid of it. Although I believe VZW finally changed it due to the negative feedback.

Anyway, back to the OT, since this is the official phone of the Olympics, I'm hoping Samsung puts more pressure on the carriers to get it out sooner.

Well if the length of time VZW is taking to release the 4.0.4 update for the GNex is any indication, it's gonna be awhile.

Verizon doesn't have to obey.... and I doubt they will.
If the GS3 is the "official" phone of the Olympics I wonder if they are going to confiscate all other devices from people when they go to the games....

This is why the games are not with a crap and I won't be affiliated with them but that's another subject altogether.

Hell they probably turn off the cell towers around where the games are anyhow just to prevent people from sending images or video anyway.

I don't have much faith in Verizon being able to deliver anything timely.
