Reliable source for inexpensive replacement battery?

I recently purchased what I thought was a genuine Samsung battery for my GS3 on Amazon. When I received it, however, I quickly determined that it was most likely a fake (too thick, NFC did not work...) I've since returned it and should get a refund shortly, but I'm going to need to replace it. Any suggestions?

If you're wanting the stock size replacement battery, you have a few options.

1) When you register your phone w/SAMSUNG, you should get a 50% OFF discount coupon code for all smartphone accessories on SAMSUNG'S webstore/website. They also have a BLACK FRIDAY event starting on 11/18/12 for registered customers,so, perhaps you'll be able to use the 50% OFF coupon in conjunction w/the sale for further savings.

2) When purchasing an other than OEM battery, whether it be standard size or extended, order directly from the source (HYPERION, GORILLA GADGETS, etc...) & avoid the no-name generics, for several reasons. The brand names typically are still less expensive than OEM while also offering NFC capability, not to mention a bit more battery life & a fairly generous warranty.

You should also be able to find discount codes for the abovementioned manufacturers for even greater $ savings.
Good luck & please keep us updated on your experience/situation.

I highly recommend Anker batteries. I have used them in a few phones and they either equal or exceed the stock batteries. Heres a link.

Definitely another respected brand, however, the OP was looking for a replacement battery with NFC capability.

Sadly, it appears I've accidentally deleted the coupon code I received (instead of archiving it...curses!), but I may see what kind of discount I can get on the 18th.

This is correct. I don't care necessarily if it's a Samsung branded battery, as long as it's quality and has NFC capability.

In that case. Theres the Hyperion you recommended. Ive got one on the way, but havent done any testing yet to be able to recommend it.

I will look into this as well.

Thanks for the replies so far, any other suggestions are welcomed too!

I should also mention that ebay is out, unless you can direct me to a seller you know to be trustworthy. I don't feel like sifting through the garbage.

I purchased from Gorilla Gadgets and got it within 2 days. The battery is great. Now I am a big fan of them. I have posted several threads and recommend my friends. I checked the NFC worked well. If you go to their website, there is a video that shows their battery has NFC. Gorilla Gadgets 4500mAh Extended Life Battery for Samsung Galaxy S3 - YouTube

After reading your post I decided to give the site a look, and found this 2300mah with NFC. Standard size as well.
