Remapping Bixby button

I am holding out for the Note 8 but figured to grab this app and knowledge now while it is right in front of me.

Well they know that if they don't block remapping no one will use Bixby...I forsee the most common time Bixby will be used is one someone hits the button by accident! Bixby is just a bad idea, it's doomed to fail...It's going to be another Microsoft Bob lol.

Give it a couple of weeks... suspect Samsung are going to be playing wack a mole with this for a while.

I can't help wondering what makes Bixby so important to them that they feel they need to work to force it on people (and make the devices less attractive in the process). The obvious answer is that there's some information they are very keen to collect, though in a very top-down regimented company like Samsung other possibilities exist.

I don't want any stupid AI "assistant" on my phone at all, let alone have activation of an additional one mapped to a button I can't use for anything else.

Someone in the comments of the AP article has asked the question if you could use Tasker to kill Bixby as soon as it's launched, then have tasker open the app/perform the function you want once Bixby has been killed.

Bixby says: "You can't stop me. I am in integrated part of your life now. Not even tasker can stop my insidious plans to monitor your every move. By the way....Don't forget the milk, or that I am always watching you and selling your information to third parties..."

Does anyone know if this bixby button can be re-mapped for pretty much anything if the phone is rooted? I've only just got my S8 yesterday, so not fully played with things yet, but the Bixby button is a right pain. I've used on of the apps to re-map it for now (I have it set on the LED light when pressed), but i'd love to be able to re-map it to work with something like Teamspeak 3 so i can use it as a push to talk button.

Anyone any experience with this ?

Gareth
