Remembering apostrophes?

Lightsped

On my old Android 1.5 phone, the phone would remember to use apostrophes on texting. For example, if I typed 'im' or 'id', the phone would automatically change it to I'm or I'd.

How can I get this new Epic 4g phone to do this?

It has everything to do with the keyboard and nothing to do with Android itself. I honestly think that the stock keyboard for Samsung is the worst feature about the device. Try downloading Go Keyboard. It has autocorrect and I feel the setup is much better (space bar isn't miniscule)

Even though I picked up SwiftkeyX from the 10days10cents Google extravaganza, I still use the Samsung keyboard.

I don't typically have problems with apostrophes correctly showing up when swiping or standard typing.

Sometimes the autocorrect will give me "I'll" when I want "ill" for example but that's easy enough to fix with a dictionary tap.

The biggest update to the Samsung keyboard though was the removal of the EN/ES toggle back in early December, which kept screwing me up.
