My windows laptop at home is connected to the internet via WIFI of the modem,

Can I make a remote connection from an android phone/tablet to this
laptop when there is more than 1 laptop connected to this modem via WIFI ?

What is a good app ? Do I need to install something on my laptop ?

The best app for this Splashtop I bought it.... The only app that doesnt lag...and sound? ;)

edit: I control my laptop with my tablet at work...I take my tablet with me to work and on break i used wifi... but as guest because I dont trust random wifis ;)

Here's another for Splashtop. No, it doesn't matter how many computers are connected to the network that the computer you're connecting to is on. There's a free software that you install on the computer side (they call it the Streamer) so that you can access it, set up the password, etc. When you're on the same wifi network, it will pick up all computers on that network that have the stream software installed. If you're away like you want to do, you just log into your Google account on the laptop software and the phone/ tablet app and then it will pick up any computers that you've got the Google account logged into on the Streamer.

There's a phone version of the app and a tablet version. I think you can use the phone version on a tablet, but you get extra features with the tablet one. I don't have a tablet, so I don't know what those features are, but I assume it might have something to do w/ resolution.

You can use Xtralogic Remote Desktop Client to connect to your laptop from your android phone. Also, you can have a view only remote desktop from your android phone / tablet using gosupportnow.com remote support service.

I've been using Splash Remote Desktop, Splashtop2 and Slpash HD. In Slashtop on a Galaxy Note 2 phone the keyboard fills the screen. Can only see one line even to set preferences! When I pull up my computer and go to a database I have 2 lines visible and have to scroll just to enter data. Even on my 10" Transformer pad it takes up half the screen. Any way to resize the keyboard?

well, recently i have tested a lot of the similar applications, so let's share my experience :-),
the best one is simply cloudpocket, you have complete control over everything, it is stable, you can scroll the pages with a semi mouse facility.
second is Remote Desktop, it does not require an application or server installed on your laptop and the screen is so live and the mouse reflexes are so quick as if you are working directly on your laptop.
third is crazyremote, the best thing about it is some transparent buttons which facilitate working on windows, also you can change the mood to experience less sharp but smoother interface, you can easily watch films or even play video games with the least lag.
forth is splashtop, the server supports linux and windows and mac, but the thing i really like about it is a scrolling facility which is the best among all applications.
