Help Remote erase

Hey good users

I've sold my Xperia Z1 with a cracked screen on ebay. I can't actually get on my phone without the touchscreen and was planning to do a remote wipe. If I do this, will it still function but just without my personal data or will the phone be unusable?

It will only remove user data, the system will remain intact so it'll still work fine. How are you planning to wipe it remotely?
