Remote TV/Receiver/Device Controller

Whilst I fully appreciate my N7 has no Infra Red capability is there any way I can use it to control an IR sender that sits in front of the TV or other AV equipment? An App that was programmable with the actual device controls would be needed too.

Link between the two devices would be via a home WiFi network or using Bluetooth. Anyone seen a device out there to do this ?

i have a TiVo and use their official app to set up recordings, change the channel, etc. it looks like TiVo commander is a suitable (and possibly better) alternative. my only gripes with the TiVo app is that it is a bit on the sluggish side, but it's neat for scoping out other channels without the on-screen menu obscuring what's currently playing on the TV.

Thanks for the heads up. Logitech Harmony Link has a specific Android App and looks like the way to go - will investigate further and let you know how I get on.
