I notice that your website says that it will work sometimes over 3G. Is there a way to know, short of trying it out? Would I have to do anything different, to see if 3G is working?

It also only require 1/3 memory when it only serve the same features of Remote Desktop. But after added FTP and other features, the memory increased:)

Updated to 5.1.0

Release Notes:

1. Webcam improved

Added an option to publish webcam stream to videochats on Window.

2. Some bugs fixed

# Added Quick Reply in SMS window.
# Screen capture color bug fixed: added rgb and bgr mode for different color modes. In some phones, the red and blue colors are switched, you can try those modes to get the correct color.
# Use new contact API for Android 2.0+: some users reported that they can't get all contacts SMS window, this may fix it.
# Webcam now can works in more phone models.

I worked deep night yesterday, then finally released it :) It's an important release for me. I added a key feature -- "Bridge Mode" for it. Now it can works for all network connections, totally support the 3G connection. All 3G users can access your phone from any place now. And I'm sorry that contacts feature was delayed because of it.

The bridge server is set at Denver, USA. So the users out of USA may be a little slower. And it's still on beta phase, so it may not stable enough now.

Now totally support 3G connection, and even 2G, if you have enough patience :D

Updated to 5.3.0

Release Notes:
1. Remote Control Add-on
Integrate the VNC Server and VNC Web Viewer together, it enable you to remote control your phone in computer browser via network connection.

2. SSID Auto Off bug fixed
Please try again.

3. Injected contact name bugs will be fixed soon, sorry about that

Updated this morning. I think this is one of the best free RDP application out there. :)
I'd like to see the File Explorer more enhanced for easy file management.

Is there any way a VNC server and viewer can be used in a non-rooted device. The requirements in Remote Web Desktop for this are for a rooted device, can anyone tell me if there is an app which can allow this on a non-rooted device?

Really easy setup with App. Put in an password on the phone and then type in the IP and you are in control. Would be great to roll out over an entreprise to remotely configure and update/install software. Keyboard works and can use the camera on a rooted phone. FTP allows you to remotely view the software and files installed on both you SD card and on the system. Some features aren't working yet such as the contacts and settings function. Hopefully in future drag and drop file movement from desktop to phone

had a quick play around, had to use bridge mode as I couldn't get working normally over my wifi, but I'll take a look into that. I really liked it though, this is something I'll be using at work, since I always have a computer infront of me and I absolutely hate typing sms's on phone lol, I'll be able to just keep this open and message with the pc keyboard.

Thanks

I'm not a certified geek, but if you're like me at all, with multiple monitors, laptop off to one side, netbook running, and REALLY use your droid , then "Remote Web Desktop: Control phone in browser" is an app you'll want to check out. There are many uses I can foresee in the future, but for now the messaging thru the browser window is enough for me to call this a keeper. Thanks!

Updated to 5.4.8

Because the contact feature haven't been completely finished, so I release a previw version at first. It's a read-only version of it, the editable version will coming soon.

Make a dial from desktop and group SMS are also added.

I also added an option to turn off the sound notification of incoming SMS, and made the quick reply message box resizable.

Updated to 5.5.5

How does this app differ from "Webkey"? I have not downloaded this one yet, but looks very similar.

Hi, awesome application!! Great thing to showoff what my phone can do!
I have one question, is there anyway to use the webcam in skype or facebook video chat or stuff like that? Would be awesome cuz that way I wouldn't have to spend ~30 bucks for a real webcam!! ;)

No root req. Im using this without root. However, root IS required for one feature, and that is taking a SS of your phone. I use "No Root Screenshot It" for that job.
