Remote Web Desktop: Control phone in browser

I don't understand...

When I try to open up the 'Remote Control Beta' there's a message 'This feature is only for ROOTED phone.'

What should I do?
In my understanding this app don't need root right?

Im actually looking for a way to view and control the actual android desktop as if I were in front of it.. I want to configure and test my google tv box without interrupting the missus watching tele!
