May i ask what was you trying it on . If a tv or dvr cable box . You may want to make sure that their software can read your software . If not this can get real ugly. You will have to check to see if they are compatible

I'm running my cable box and TV with it. Both were on the list.

Now did it have codes on side of them or not . And did you power off phone and power back on before you tried to connection to the tv and cable box .

Works fine on my 3 year old LG TV and year old Samsung cable box. Haven't tried on anything else yet.

One thing that tripped me up a little, the diagram on the phone's screen almost gives the impression you should hold up the phone with the back toward the remote device. The IR transmitter is clearly on the top of the phone though so if you're doing that, hold it like a remote instead (phone horizontal with screen toward ceiling).
