Root Removable Apps for Epic EC05

Ferret

Newbie
Hey, Guys:
I'm looking for a list of Apps that are safe to remove (or at least the .apk names versus the actual App) for the Epic version EC05.

I've already followed the link to the xda thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773142
But apparently, it was written for DI07...and all the file names and cross-links have changed. (I also registered and tried to ask the same question there...but i'm not exalted-enough to actually post yet :p)

Thanks in advance for any help!
(in-particular...can someone please find the heart of ObnoxierMail, so I can drive a stake through it? I already pulled the mail.apk and .odex files, and rebooted....no help!)

One of the easiest way is just to flash a custom rom, all sprint bloat is usually removed, unless there is some of it you want.

Take this for what it's worth, and some may disagree with me, but here's my point-of-view.
After MAKING A NANDROID BACKUP, I've experimented with removing any and ALL apks and files with Titanium. The only times I've ever had a problem afterwards was the system clock, android system (of course) and phonecrashnotifier.1.0.0.

That's not to say that you won't run across things that don't work (don't take out *shutdownapp.apk*, things get sticky) or that people won't tell you this is horrible advice. My point is, with a solid NANDROID BACKUP, there's very little you can't do. I had an Evo (wrong forum I know, but notoriously poor battey life) lasting 30+ hours (light usage mind you) because of trial and error.

Give it a try. Be creative. It's your phone and you bought the insurance. (Anyone who throws the Insurance Fraud case your way , tell them to suck it. Everyone saw their phone shiny and new in the showroom and bought the insurance. And it crossed their mind that something MAY go wrong flashing, something their insurance says they shouldn't be doing in the first place. It's yours. Make it yours. Odin if you have problems. Just think, others don't have that option.

Of course, these could be the ramblings of a drunk man. You never know. But I bet my phone (11th in my line of androids) will beat yours over the finish line.

Have fun.
