Help Remove an unwanted icon

Samsung Galaxy 4 Note
Sorry for the vague title but I don't know what to call the icon in question and so can't search for answers in manual or here. I refer to the icon consisting of a blue circle with 4 squares in it. It gives quick access to various other things which are available elsewhere. While I can move this icon anywhere on the screen, I can't hide it or remove it and more often than not, wherever I leave it, it is in the way and I have to move it.
Is there any way of removing or hiding it?

It sounds like the toolbox or maybe single handed use. Have you looked through the settings?

Are you using the stock launcher or a different launcher?
Can you post a screenshot of the icon? Is the icon at the bottom or the sides of the screen?
Can you longpress on the icon and drag it to the trash can icon that appears when longpressing on it?

OK - just to stop you both getting bored. How do I send you a screenshot (new toy - haven't figured that one out yet).
Incidentally, long press (I got bored pressng it) did nothing.

I'm posting using my PC. Screenshot attached. The offending icon is the blue circle with the 4 white squares.

The floating blue circle/dot is the "Assistant Menu". To turn it off go into "Settings". Under the "Personal" section click on "Accessibility", then "Dexterity and interaction", then "Assistant menu". At the top of the "Assistant menu" window turn the switch to "off. The blue dot should then disappear.

Thank you Mikestony. That got rid of it. I also now know what it is called. Would never have guessed Assistant Menu. It is in the manual - if you know what you are looking for!

Not sure if you are aware. If you swipe down from the status bar with two fingers it will display all of the quick settings.

Yes thanks - I had found that one.That was why I wanted rid of the Assistant Menu - seemed generally pointless.
