Remove Corporate Calendar Icons

I have 4 corporate calendar icons on my home screen that I don't want there anymore. However, they are not deleting. I tried dragging them to the trash can, but nothing happens. Any ideas as to why?

Do you hold them there until they turn red? I know I had that problem, thought I was over the trashcan but just enough off to not delete.
 
Hold them until they vibrate. Then you drag them to the trashcan.
 
how do you uninstall the app? Mine is constantly running and I don't use it. I probably don't plan on it either.
