Remove GS4 Power Button Or Replace?

Hi all,
I have a Samsung GS4 (sgh-I337M), and the power button is stuck and the phone keeps rebooting. Should I replace the power button or just remove it?.

I'm almost to the point of just getting a new phone. Thanks.

You can with care straighten a bent or spread button. The button is also available as a spare part - it can be renewed if necessary. You will need to dismantle the phone to carry out any repair so if you feel competent to do this take care.

Alrighty I'll try to bend it back thank you for the tip, will report back here when done. I owned a galaxy s for 3 years and no problem with the power button, so I am confident I can make this phone work for me, thank and cheers.

I had to carry out a straightening of the Power button on my grandsons S4 when he dropped it. It was causing the phone to re-boot. Just take care.

So it seems that this may be a faulty power switch, I think?. I tried using rubbing alcohol, but that did nothing. I am probably just going to remove the power switch that attaches to the motherboard. I'll leave the power button on the outside though, so the phone doesn't look like crap. I can still use the phone without the power switch using an app (i forget the name). I just can't afford to sell this thing for parts, i already paid to have the screen replaced.

It's funny because my first and second touch screen phone EVER was a Samsung Galaxy, then the Galaxy S, and I NEVER had problems with anything, not even a power switch. The Galaxy S was a very nice phone, too.

Your switch may have been damaged when the button was damaged. There is a YouTube video showing how to renew the switch on the logic board but it's done by a female with a gentle hand-eye coordination. :)
