remove gtalk display pic

want to remove display pic in my gtalk...
i have already tried by clicking on the first tab on gtalk which suggests my email id.den click on display pic and click remove.but instead of removing the pic it just made the pic black.i have already tried it million times but with no result..every time it makes the pic just black..please suggest me how to remove my pic.i want it to show just the android logo as previously....!!!!:-|:-|:-|:-|

if you're referring to your profile picture, it's all linked together - gtalk, google+, gmail. Log into gmail and see if you can edit the picture from the settings menu. Or log into google+, if you signed up for it.

I'm having this same problem. I changed my profile pic in Talk on my Droid. Then I deleted it, but instead of it going back to the default gray Droid guy, its now a black box. When I try to delete again, the gray Droid guy appears, but then the black box comes back. I went into my gmail and removed the black box from there in my settings, it is now back to default. However, Talk on my phone still shows a black box as my pic. I've tried everything, cant get rid of it. I dont have Google+. help!
