Remove my contacts from FACEBOOK

Facebook recently started a new things where they can import your phone numbers from your cellphone and put them on your facebook. It says to undo this you need to disable the sync feature on your phone. I have a droid pro, and can't find the option to disable sync. Anyone know? I really hate the fact that my personal phone numbers are on my facebook.

Some may still be there after you delete them in your privacy settings on facebook but thats because those people chose to put their number out there. More than likely they are unaware of it. I posted a reminder to my friends about it because I dont use the app and the numbers remain there. Looking at the info, its on them to delete them if they remain after you attempt to rid the numbers. F facebook

I see this in a few of my FB news feeds. You should be able to disable it on the FB web page.

Even if you do it now, isn't it too late as FB keeps that information forever?

Thats what I have read but who knows. They don't give android instructions there is another thing I noticed. I never registered or activated my FB app on my phone and they still got the contacts which means it must be a thing with Google as well. In all reality, between Facebook, Google, Microsoft/Apple and any other site you have given any info to, its out there and has been for a long time. If anyone wants to steal an identity and is capable, they will. The thing that gets me is that nobody was made aware of the feature on FB or many other privacy changes over the last year or so. Had they mentioned it, it may not have caused the stir it has.

Sadly we all signed up for this and continue handing out info, even after we are made aware of how unsafe it is. I have put in a request to have them remove my account on facebook because the option to do it from your profile just puts it on hold.
