Help remove network from the list of remembered networks

Hello everyone
I have one simpel question:

How kan ik remove a network from the list of remembered networks on my european not rooted 3G xoom (android 3.2)?

Long press on the network you want to delete and a box should pop with the option to delete.

that doenst work.
If i long press a box comes up that says connect.
After that the connection just keeps scanning and scanning and scanning, but never connects

Interesting, when I long press on a network that isn't in range it has the option to "forget network" or "modify network". If I short press I get "cancel" or "forget" as options.
