Root Remove Remote Administrator

The geniuses that run the IT at my university decided to enable a requirement that we all have a pin on our phones. They also made it so background data sync was disabled. Why? I have no flipping idea.

They pushed it to us this morning, and I lasted about an hour before I was going nuts. So I removed the corporate sync account. Here's the caveat though: Even without the corporate sync account enabled, I can't remove the pin requirement or re-enable my background sync. This is extremely aggravating. I've tried adding it back, removing it again, rebooting the phone, etc. but nothing seems to get rid of their control of the phone. I tried asking the IT folks, but they're idiots and just clicked random settings before attempting to google it, something that my almost computer illiterate mother could do.

Googling it myself doesn't seem to bring up any options other than a factory reset of the phone. I could do that, and I have decent backups, but I'm lazy and was hoping there was a different solution:

I'm running .621, have root, have TiBU, root explorer, sqlight editor, etc. Is there any way to simply delete all controls from the corporate sync device administrator without doing a factory reset? I've already deleted the corp sync account.

i was hoping you didnt say .621

if your in tibu can you locate the actual apk that was installed (assuming thats what it is) and freeze it? or uninstall it through tibu? im not sure what all you can do in this situation as a seperate security program is designed to take over the system from android and monitor itself is not something i would do.

you might have to data wipe, and if you do that, im not sure if .621 will lose root or what. but its a good attempt to try

Take a look in your security settings. There should be a section for device administrators (or something like that). They might have something in there you can disable/delete. I don't know if that's the fix, but it's worth checking.

It's not a separate apk. It's a setting on the phone that's not going away and that I can't uncheck. If I knew where the setting was stored, I'd just wipe that.

It was driving me crazy enough I ended up doing a factory reset, restore to my last nandroid, and then restoring everything from TiBU and deleting the email account. Really annoying though.
