Help Remove voice mail waiting icon

I'm currently in the Bahamas, using a BaTelCo SIM in my RAZR MAXX. After clearing up a problem with the "fast dormancy" function (VZW supports it, BaTelCo doesn't), the phone has been doing well. But... for some reason *86 doesn't retrieve voice mail as it should [here or with VZW]. The phone lapses into using USSD code when it shouldn't. OTOH, if I dial 242-557-0000, the system figures out who's calling and sends me off to my voice mail as if I'd dialed *86.

Here's the problem: using 242-557-0000 doesn't clear the "voice mail waiting" icon or stop the blinking green LED. Is there a way to clear this manually?

Are you lstening to the voice mail to the end? If not, that may cause the notification to continue to show.

Unfortunately, BaTelCo deleted the voicemail as being "too old". I tried to recover it, but it's really gone. I'll try having someone leave a message so I can retrieve it. Maybe that'll do the trick.
