Removed SD card problem

Newbie
Put in an SD card, did stuff then u-mounted and removed (first time putting one in).
Now, I have a notification up top saying my SD card is removed, and I want the pesky thing to go away.
 
Put back the SD card? Why did you remove it anyway. Likely is that the phone put some stuff there that it wants back.
