Removing Calendar Reminders

I just imported all my events from rainlendar to the google calendar. This in turn auto synced to my phone. I have the default calendar that comes with the phone and not one we can find in market/play and I have a AT&T Impulse. I hadn't changed my defualt reminder to none before the sync and now all those events have a reminder on them , even if I take a reminder of one instance of a reocurring event all others keep it . What can I do to take the reminder(s) off all existing events on my phone, worst case I'd have to add back in a few for things like special birthdays and such. I managed to remove the reminders on the google calendar online but it didn't remove it from my phone and that's the thing I'm most interested in changing. I'm new here so if this was asked before I appologize and thank you all in advance for your help. While I've had it about 8 months this is my first smart phone and I do find a lot of helpful info on this site.

You can try opening the Calendar app, choosing Menu then Settings (or More, then Settings) and see if there is a setting for Reminders. It would be in there that you could turn on/off reminders globally for the Calendar.

I can change the default settings there but that only works for future items and doesn't change existing.

Looks like it may not be possible to do what I wanted, or I'd likely have an answer by now. If someone knows something feel free to post it. I'll keep looking and if I find the answer I'll post it as well.
