Root Removing Carrier Bloatware ... Only

I'm not actually interested in rooting my Droid Incredible 2 ... I just want to remove my carrier's bloatware (Verizon Wireless). Nothing else needs to change. Even the HTC apps are okay.

Do I understand correctly that I only need S-Off to do this?

Any like-minded folks out there, who only wanted to remove their carrier's otherwise uninstallable bloat? Any tips or links to how-to guides?

Got my answer: To get rid of bloatware you have to root the phone. Should have done more research. I'll do better next time.
