Root Removing Carrier IQ

Daleks Über Alles
You all remember Carrier IQ? Well, it comes on the HTC One S (at least the TMO USA version). You can accept or deny the service when initially setting up your device, but some people want to be rid of that stuff all together. Here is how you do it:

  1. Your phone must be rooted (for instructions on that see the sticky ;)).
  2. You need some form of a file explorer app which works with root access (I use ES File Explorer).
  3. You need to delete the following files using the file explorer:
    • In /system/app
      1. Delete IQ-tmobile-release-signed.apk
      2. Delete IQToggle.signed.apk
      3. Delete the two .odex files that go along with these as well.
    • In /data/data
      1. Delete com.carrieriq.tmobile
      2. Delete com.carrieriq.tmobile.IQToggle
