Removing Clock from notification bar?

is there any way to set it so the clock is not in the notification bar? I really don't need it and I don't see the point of it being there.

Running stock android 4.0.4 with sense 4.0 (although have apex launcher and widget locker on top of that)

I think the only way is if you root.
