Removing excess facebook friends?

Hi, I have a galaxy s2. It has ICS on it and for some reason the facebook app syncs ALL of my friends to the phone. On the previous version of the phone (gingerbread) it only synced with the existing contacts. I do in fact have "sync only with existing" selected in facebook. Since upgrading to ICS it has been doing this. I want my existing contacts synced and not all hundreds of friends. I know there is an option to hide all of the extra contacts but they still all show up in the search or when selecting from friends when performing certain actions.

If you head into the settings of FB can you change which are sync'd. If that doesn't work, you can wipe the data from FB, and start over. Once logged in, it'll ask what friends, if any you want sync'd.

It just has the 3 options; Don't sync, sync only with existing and sync all contacts. I usually select the middle one and with GB it did as it said. It must be some sort of glitch with the new update. I have a few apps (such as JD) that doesn't work at all with ICS.
