Help Removing Facebook Contacts

I'm not sure if there is a solution to this I'm missing, I checked a few other posts that had been bumped but it was in reference to the Droid X.

Just got the Atrix a few days ago, I'm not well versed in Blur, but I've also read the lovers & haters for that... I'm still undecided at this time, however, if this has something to do with it, I'm probably leaning on the negative side. More time decide on that one.

My main question is, does anyone know of a way to remove facebook contacts from my main contact list in the phone, but sync the ones you want to keep, say the pic/info for -- I was able to do this on my Blackberry Torch and other phones in the past... so I'm not sure if there's something different and involved or if it's yet to be determined.

I'm new to Android so hope you don't mind if I have a lot of questions potentially coming... but I'm trying to figure and research everything I can first on my own.

You can do one or two things, remove the Facebook account and that will get rid of it and just use the Facebook application.

If you want to merge accounts because of multiple contact listings, open a contact and hit the menu key and click the link option and it will link multiple contacts as one.
 
Here's a work around I found

For the phone contacts mark them as favorites, then go to your contacts and go to display and select Display Favorites.. it'll only show the contacts you stared

Im on the same boat as the OP. Thanks for the tip.

Strange thing happen to my wife's Atrix tho, she had her contacts synced at the ATT store and when we got home we synced her facebook and after doing that her contacts seemed to disappear all together and only show her facebook contacts. This didnt happen right away but about an hour later. Now I go into her contacts and it only shows her FB contacts with Emails only and no Phone #'s?? Keep in mind I downloaded the FB app and then added FB to my MotoBlur account. How can I show my regular contacts to show again :(. Or is there a way to look at different types of contacts?

Don't mean to thread jack the OP but is there a built in contact sync available with the gmail native app?

PS new to Android and loving it.

When you get into your contacts, physically click on where it says

Contacts: Facebook

A menu will popup and when it does, click on All contacts ..problem should be solved

My phone sometimes reverts to only FB contacts sometimes out of the blue as well, and this is the easiest way to see all contacts.

You know what I tried the same thing and nothing. All the #'s are gone. Thanks anyways.
 
Try looking at your list of applications and under the contact list and see if they are there.

Thanks for all the quick replies, will be trying and updating to let ya know if it works soon. As for the motoblur fb.... I don't see where it's benefiting me to have it log in that way and have d/l'ed the app which i like much better. Had just left it logged in bc I didn't know if there was some benefits for it that I wasn't aware of.
 
Ok, I completely wasn't seeing up top in my contacts where it had 'facebook' set as the category, so, so far just clicked and changed to google so only those google contacts are showing up. Sort of odd some random email addresses appeared that I had never saved, but easily deleted and seems smooth so far. Thanks again for the help!
 
I really wish Motoblur had an update that allow just to add fb contacts to current contacts instead of the whole list, I know we could just add to favorites, but c'mon
