Hi all
This is the first time I have ever posted on this forum, however I do visit often.
I am need of a little bit of advice if anyone would be so kind, I am a complete newbie to this rooting etc.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 which I got on contract with O2, what a lovely piece of kit it is!
I rooted the device using odin and an application called S2 Root which went fine after much googling and youtubing!
I then used the terminal emulator to remove some unwanted apps but I did not back up with titanium back up so am I correct in believing when they are gone they are gone for good?
I then attempted to install a custom rom using Rom Manager, it all went fine till it crashed and then got stuck on the Samsung boot screen which I did sort by restoring by the SD card somehow, but hey it worked!
I am now running the Samsung official rom which is working well but even after I wiped all data on the internal drive and cleared the cache all of the apps I removed are still missing - Is there anyway I could start again from scratch, like a new phone straight from the box? I have heard about an S2 USB Jig but would this be the only option?
I do intend to stay on the official Samsung rom and would like to keep it rooted.
However, I would like to have a go at deleting the stock apps again if thats possible and the second thing I would like to do is remove the O2 branding, when the phone is turned on and off, I do not want to see the O2 splash screens.
I hope somebody out there is able to help as I am a bit lost!!
Please try to answer as simple as possible!! I have seen a few links online regarding debranding but I am concerned that I will dowmload the wrong file and crash it again as it took me 6 hours of researching and playing last night to recover my S2
Thanks
