Help removing old user account on dell streak 5

Hi,

I've inherited a Dell Streak 5 which still has the old user account. I've tried to remove it, but get the message telling me to reset the phone to factory settings first. I've done this, but still get the same message when trying again to remove the user account. So I'm going round in circles. Any advice?

After the factory reset, you should be prompted to provide the Google ID for the phone. That ought to override whatever's there. If that's not happening .. I'm confuzzed!

As you say, it prompts for the Google Id, but not for my account. It asks for the Google Id for the old account!
