Removing widget size options for Beautiful Widgets

Mekanikz

Newbie
Is there any way to reduce the amount of Beautiful Widgets widget size options (e.g. 4x2, 4x4, etc.) from the widget list? Is it possible from the Beautiful Widgets settings menu, or do I need to do it through a different method?

Note that I'm not on a rooted phone. Thanks for any help.

This ought to help: AppWidgetPicker. It takes all the widgets from each app and makes them into one entry in the add widget list. You click on that and get the appropriate widgets. Like this:

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, but there has to be some way to do it through the Beautiful Widgets settings, no? I mean it adds like 14 widget choices to the list, surely such a popular app would have the option to remove some of them?

Also, I see he provided the source there, but is that app safe to use seeing as how it's not on the Android Market?

I don't have Beautiful Widgets (bought it in the ten cent sale but didn't really need it), but my only suggestion is go through every stinkin' setting in the preferences. (I know, probably not much help.) I use Elixir Widgets (not a competitor, but also multi-widgeted with 20), and it's got a setting to turn off individual widgets.

If you were to root your phone, you could use something like Autostarts to turn off individual widgets for any program.

I'm comfortable with getting stuff from XDA Developers, especially something like this that has been around for a while. I figure if he was putting out something bad, they'd have outed him by now.

Okay, thanks for the help. I've tried going through all the options before, but with no luck. I think it's pretty ridiculous that they would add 14 widgets to the list without the ability to remove some of them . Guess I'm going to try out AppWidgetPicker. Thanks again.

Actually it has been my experience that most apps add multiple items to the widget list without a way to control them. Just the way it is.
