Help Repair-ability

Before purchasing this phone I have a few questions. Does anyone know the level of difficulty it will take to repair the touch screen digitizer? I always seem to crack them and refuse sending it for a $200 repair. Also does the battery look to be replaceable. I know both are fairly easy to replace on the S4 and if it is too difficult in the G2 is will likely get the S4. I was able to replace a touch screen on my Incredible 2 and my wife's phone with ease so I do have some know-how. Thanks in advanced for any info.

Battery is not removable on the G2. I recently switched from the galaxy S4 the the G2, and battery life is way better with the G2, and I like the phone a lot better than the S4 as well. As far as the screen goes I am not sure.

Is the battery soldered to the mobo or connected by a ribbon/cable. The battery will eventually degrade. I will have the phone for two years.

the battery can be removed if the back case is taken off properly....look at the xda forums..people have removed the cover.

Take a look at this video.

interesting video.
I'd be a bit cautious about inserting anything in there to take up space. Likely a little airflow over the surface of the battery is a good thing to keep it's temperature down. (Edit: it's also possible the Li-Ion cell dimensions change slightly during charge/discharge cycles).

Then again, maybe this "space" is consumed in the VZW model by the Qi wireless battery charging receiver.

The other thing, it looks to me that the case actually forms part of an antenna. These things are designed and tested with special RF equipment. Personally, I wouldn't want to go changing the characteristics of the device unknowingly by affixing something on the inside of the device in the wrong place.
