I've got a Sony Xperia X10i and the usb connector on the phone has broke so I have to pull the battery out to charge it.
I can't go on like this so I could either repair or replace.
The thing is I don't have much money and I'm not wanting to go on a contract as I've got a giff gaff sim which I'm really happy with.
Is replacing a usb connector expensive or could I do it myself? (I'm guessing not as phones are pretty small)
If I get a replacement I'm not after the latest model just something comparable with the X10 but not as laggy. I don't go crazy with apps just music, audiobooks, web, maps, swype and evernote are the main ones.
I'm happy running 2.3 but the X10 lags often and stutters when audio starts up. Something easy to root or without much bloated software would be nice.
So does anyone know of a phone that's solid and dependable on 2.3?
There are so many out there I don't know whether to go for a mid range android or get an older high end android like a galaxy S1 or S2.
Thanks for any help

and I have a Tab to tide me over. But for most practical purposes, yes a Galaxy S would do just fine if you're looking to get it on the cheap. It may have just similar specs to your X10 but performance wise its an upgrade.
