Sorry if this has been discussed before, I couldn't find it if it was...
So for a different phone, the ZTE, there's this cool guide to getting space back
[GUIDE] How to get more FREE SPACE for your apps - ZTE Blade / Libra - Blade.MoDaCo.com - Android @ MoDaCo
Some applies to the Ally, but the second item, repartitioning, isn't something I'd know how to do on the Ally given what is needed on the ZTE. I see from AntTek App Manager that my System cache is 128MB and has 127MB free, while my Internal is 152MB and has 16.64MB free. If I do pretty much anything I run out of space.
I'd love to knock down the System cache to maybe 20 MB, and have another 108MB for my Internal so that I don't have to delete an app every time I see a cool one I'd like to add.
But it looks like I'd somehow need to back up the whole phone, and then create a partition layout for the Ally. Anyone know anything about that?
I don't know what all these Odexed ROMs are all about, but it seems that might be related. Googling didn't make it clear; it seemed they might be using the SDCard for apps, which I don't want to do.
(Because of these problems, I upgraded to a Droid 4 for 14 days, and then sent it back. Keyboard on the Droid 4 so much worse than the Ally, the phone is so much heavier, the battery life is about 1/2 of the Ally, and you can't even put in a new battery! I carry a couple extra batteries with me when I go GPS hiking for the day...)
