Help Repeatedly recieving SMS

I do use handcent, however I have uninstalled it and had the same situation over the last 4 days.

I receive SMS messages (text messages) over and over for a few hours without any new ones. This is to say that I might receive the same text text message 50 to 100 times or the same two or four text messages between 50 to 100 times. Then after say 3 to 4 hours I will get a rush of all the texts that people have sent me over then last 4 hours at once (sometimes close to 32 or so text messages).

Is this a known issue? I am still within my 30 days. I could exchange it. Let me know if this is a common problem.

Had this issue a couple weeks ago. Figured it was a tower issue. Possibly not. Stopped on its own though. Bout a 14 hour event throughout the night of the same messages rolling in.

I use GoSms.

My wife was having this exact same issue on her EVO 3d a couple of weeks ago. She kept receiving my text messages over and over again. I was getting it to stop by deleting all of her text messages and rebooting her phone. I also deleted mine, didn't know if it was causing the issues.

my txts worked fine until I installed Handcent, then I experienced the same problem.

I ended up uninstalling the app, but then I got no txt messages at all. I had to pull the battery on mine and it started working properly.

I tried Handcent again, but it still seemed quirky, so I am back to the stock app for now.

I'll occasionally receive a text 2 or 3 times, but nothing as extreme as you are describing.

It happened again two nights ago. It seems to maybe have stopped. Battery pulling did not seem to resolve the issue.

I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago while in the Reno area.. same 3 or 4 text over and over.. it stopped the next day and everything has been fine since.. I use the stock text
