replace needed

My maxx (actually not the droid version xt910) has been acting up lately and i want to replace it, but to be honest i cant afford another high en phone for the moment.

Can you guys please recommend options to replace it? I only have 2 requisites

1.- it has to be relativily new ( for updates)
2.- not going down hardware wise

My only option so far is the moto g

As for being not a low end phone, the moto g probably would be your best bet. I've got the moto g myself ($99 Verizon version) it's very well worth the money. It's a downgrade from my LG g2 but you can't beat it for the price.

Or if your willing to purchase a used phone, you could check out swappa.
