Replaced LCD, Screen too dark

I just replaced my LCD screen with an eBay replacement and followed a youtube video to install. Everything went back together well, but now the screen is so dark, I can barely see anything. I checked and I DO have the little rubber piece over the proximity sensor and have tried multiple times to make sure that it is in good alignment. I could still have it off-center I suppose, but I've tried. Adjusting brightness settings does nothing. Please help!

proximity sensor should only be active during calls,
there is a light sensor, that dims the screen in the dark, but you can over ride by turning auto brightness off
i would recheck led cable, or lcd maybe bad
