Help Replacing front screen glass

dada55

Lurker
Less than a month after breaking my S4's screen and digitiser, and replacing it with S5, I dropped my phone in the wrong position again.

This time though, the phone works fine, screen also works fine, so I think the damage is only cosmetic over the glass front.

Looking at replacement kits, they seem to go for about £12. The problem is, reading some of the comments and looking at the replacement videos, it looks like it can easily go wrong and potentially break the digitizer/anything else. Is the price for repair at a shop different whether or not the digitiser still works? When I phoned around for S4 they all gave me a price without asking if the screen still works and was in the £140 range so I assume they just replace the whole screen system. Any chance I could get a lower price since my digitiser works? Also, the fact that the phone is still in warranty doesn't change much right?

Thanks for the help/tips :)
... I really need to start using protectors

I think you really need to stop dropping it!:p:D Phil

I do need to stop dropping it ha :D

Even if the labour is the same, surely as the digitiser is much more expensive to buy then just a glass panel, they should at least discount for the price of it?
