I searched the forums but couldn't find a close enough answer, so excuse my post if this has been asked.
A few days ago, I very stupidly took my Thunderbolt to the lake with me and dropped it in. Needless to say, it doesn't work anymore. I have another year until my contract is up but I want to replace it with the Rezound. My question is, if I buy a Rezound from somewhere with no contract and try to activate it through Verizon with the same number as my Thunderbolt, will they charge me for trying to replace it with a different phone? They both are 4g phones and I think the data plan would stay the same. I'm just a little confused as to how replacing a phone before the contract ends works.
