Reply from Gmail?

I've heard from several sources and it's even in the app's description. How do I reply, delete, or archive from the Gmail app? I feel like I'm the only one not in on some big joke or something. I have found no conceivable way to do any of these actions with this app! I'm on a stock Droid DNA running 4.1 btw.

When you open an email on the Gmail app, there are several icons across the top of the screen. The star icon serves to "favorite" the email. The arrow that points to the left is "reply", the double arrow pointing to the left is "reply to all". The trash bin is delete, the box with an arrow pointing downward is "archive", the tags are for "labels", the envelope is for "mark read/unread", and the arrow pointing to the right is "forward".

I apologize for not asking the question correctly. I meant, how do I do all this from the notification bar? It's not showing any options when I receive the email. And I can't find any settings to enable the feature.

If you've got multiple gmail messages, pull down the notification bar and then pinch open to expand the options and pinch close to hide them. Swipe the message to delete.

You must be using the latest gmail app with jelly bean for these option to be available.
