so i currently have a evo v 4g with virgin and about year ago i signed up for beta with republic wireless. My wave will be able to order next month. Is it worth it to trade $55 a month to $19 a month??? I will end up getting a service that hasn't been fully developed and the motorola defy xt doesn't seem like a great phone... its still on gingerbread!!!... but then again... $19 a month...

what do you guyz think???

just checked the defy forums and it seems like they got a bugless jb port... only got a limited time to join... but then again... 1000 mhz single core processor.. a 3.7in screen... and only 512 mb ram... not sure..

When choosing a wireless carrier it's just that, you find the carriers that have the best coverage where you intend to use the phone and then you choose the best phone that they offer depending on your own needs. Without coverage your S3 or One X is just an expensive paperweight. Coverage first, phone second.

well i live in nyc so all carriers give me great coverage... and plus republic wireless uses sprint too... but they dont have 4g... so the question is if i should give up 4g and fairly good specs for an almost entry level phone but also only $19 a month

Like most things in life, it's a very personal decision. Simple equation though , price vs. performance. Which do YOU care about more?

isnt republic wireless trying to use wifi first than sprint as a fall back
yeah... but again... im in nyc... wifi is not a problem... and you dont really have to use wifi.. only when you can.. and another plus is that i get roaming for free with republic wireless...

I have had good luck with the Spare Phone app with the EVO V 4G (I was able to downgrade to the $35 a month plan and stay under 300 minutes every month). I'm going to let other people be my guinea pigs with Republic Wireless until they offer a phone with better specs...After upgrading to the EVO from the Motorola Triumph, I don't think I want to go back to Gingerbread (Swype for example was not available...).

im just afraid rwireless will make their plans more expensive after beta is over... as for swype... you can get it on any phone from their beta website...
