Requesting Advice: Dual Core or LTE?

I need to be on Verizon for work. I know I want an Android phone. I need to purchase the phone on May 26 (leaving one job with a corporate plan so I need to take my number with me).

So, that leaves me with the choices of whatever is out by then on VZW. The phones I am thinking I have to choose from are:

Droid X2
Droid Incredible 2
Samsung Droid Charge
HTC Thunderbolt

Droid Incredible 2 is probably not a contender for me as it is not dual core or LTE. It is unlikely that I will need a world phone. I will travel some, but work a lot in the Philadelphia area (which has VZW 4G LTE).

So, the question is which is likely better....dual core or LTE? Unfortunately, I cannot get both right now on VZW, but I also cannot wait for the Droid Bionic or any other dual-core LTE phones.

I had been focused on the Thunderbolt, but the battery life is scaring me. Droid Charge has had come good reports on battery life. I do not kill my phones with tons of web browsing and video watching during the day, but making it through a workday while I am traveling is important to me.

Getting in now on the LTE pricing before it goes up is a consideration. But is the current crop of phones such that they will not perform well on normal tasks and navigation but just be speedy when interacting with the internet?

Advice anyone? Thanks in advance.

I think you pretty much answered your own question. :)

If you don't need LTE with the bad battery life then why even consider it just because you want to lock in the price isn't a good reason, IMO. I would say Dual core would be more important in your case, if those are your only options.

Didn't read others' responses so sorry if this is a repeat.

I say it depends on your data plan.

Are you only willing to pay for the smallest data plan? Then avoid LTE and enjoy the dual cores. Are you a lucky dude with grandfathered unlimited? Go LTE and take avantage of it!

Something else to consider: ask people in your area with verizon how good the 3g network is, and how good the 4g is, and mentally note the phone they have too.

If you have great 3G coverage & quality and don't have unlimited data, I'd lean dual core.

Good luck!

I may have missed it, but when did Verizon start rolling out tiered data plans?
