Required wifi?

When I try to download anything from the market, the downloads won't start unless i'm connected to a wifi, and I have no access to one.

Is there a setting I missed or something? Can this be disabled?

Hmmm.... Have you already went over your 2gb of data?

Not seeing that option. In market after pressing menu and settings the options are: content filtering, ad preferences and notifications.

Hmm you should see
Notifications
Auto Update Apps
Update over Wifi Only
Auto Add Short Cuts
Clear Search

And that's just under the first part, there's two more menus under that..

HOwever that is just for updates.

Here is how to fix your problem...

Go to your Home Screen

Click Settings>Data Manager>Data Saver

Is Data Saver Checked?

If yes, then uncheck it.

Have unlimited. And these are the first apps i've even tried.

There is also check mark under data manager set up - "data saver" make sure your data saver is unchecked.

Also, how did you get unlimited data? Did you purchase Razr for the full price without updating your contract?
For instance if I too have unlimited data on my previous 3G plan will I get unlimited 4G data if I purchase Razr without contract?

Yes, you will get unlimited 4G data if you purchase ANY 4G phone. Came from the OG Droid and was able to get unlimited 4G when I picked up the Razr (at the promo price, so I re-upped for 2 years)

Also, I'm trying to connect to my WiFi at home but it keeps showing "Obtaining IP Address" but nothing seems to come of it. Have I missed a step, forgotten something, or just simply entered the password incorrectly? I've tried it with what I'm sure is the password, but have tried a possible secondary password from my VZW FiOS tower. I think the password is 5 digits, but am relatively inexperienced.

Thanks for any guidance.

Mine does the same (so does a laptop) if the password is wrong.

You dont have to purchase out of contract to keep your Unlimited. You are grandfathered in. I have upgraded a many times since they started that both in contract and out of contract. As long as you dont change anything your fine.

There is even a disclaimer online that when you buy the razr or any new phone that it may change your data plan to a tired data plan and to just call in after you activate the new phone and they will swap it back to unlimited.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Can you elaborate this point for me? I was on an unlimited data plan with my first Incredible. I was out of contract when I purchased Razr. I purchased Razr at Costco and they left same voice plan as I used to have (which I believe is better than what Verizon have now) but gave me 4GB of data for $30 and told me that it is special as the double data for the same money. What am I missing? Should I go back to Costco and demand from them to leave my data plan as is? Is it possible?

I would talk to Verizon directly and tell them Costco screwed up your data package.
