Help Resave a contact photo?

Is there any way to take access contact photo data/resave a contact photo? I was an idiot and deleted a picture I loved, but before I deleted it I had it set to a contact in my phone. I feel like that means the photo data still exists somewhere and that I could somehow go about locating the photo and saving it again, so that my contact isn't the only place I have it. For the record I did screenshot the contact page thing so I could have it just in case, but that includes the name and number and email in text overlay, and I would like to have the picture itself. Help would be appreciated!
(I have a Nexus 5 if that helps in any way)

Hi, I think so!

If its a google contact, great. If its not, copy the contact to google contacts on your phone in the contact app settings.
Now open the google contact using a PC and your gmail account. You should be able to right click on the picture showing against the contact and save it somewhere else.
