Help [reset no help. Take in for service] (sometimes) won`t answer calls

Hi all
Happy new year.

My HTC ONE sometimes won`t answer calls when I use the answer icon, it just wont answer. it stays on answer,.
Any advice/help woud be welcome.

need some questions answered:

1. what carrier
2. are you rooted
3. how long have you had the phone
4. when did this issue start
5 whats the latest update you have on your phone? did this issue happen AFTER you updated to the latest firmware you have or was it happening prior to any updates?
6. do you have fastboot ticked?
7. are you low on memory?
8. can you CALL OUT OK? meaning can you initiate calls normally?
do you have any bt or wired headsets installed/paired? did you unpair/remove he headphones?
9. still under warranty? can you take it into your local shop
10. are you willing to do a factory reset? if you did a successful reset and it still acts this way, your phone is in need of repair and over the counter internet help wont fix it.
11. do you have a case or screen protector on the device? remove these and re-attempt.

I have done a factory reset. still the same, so I suppose its back to Mobile Phones Direct.

Update :

I sent the phone back for exchange,
They sent me another one , it seems to be working fine.
I will check it out for a while and report back.
